FPV Drone Frame Materials: Carbon Fiber, Aluminum, and TPU Explained

Your drone frame is the skeleton that holds everything together. Choosing the right material affects durability, weight, vibration characteristics, and ultimately how your quad flies.

Carbon Fiber

T700 vs T300: T700 offers 30-40% higher tensile strength. Premium frames use T700; budget frames use T300. 3K twill weave is standard for FPV arms. 4mm arms for freestyle, 5-6mm for bando bashing, 3mm for racing.

Frame Geometry

Deadcat: Front arms wider, props stay out of HD camera view. Standard for cinematic builds. True-X: Symmetrical, best handling for freestyle and racing. Stretched-X: Wider front-to-back, improved pitch authority for racing.
