# Waterproofing Your FPV Drone for All-Weather Flying
Don’t let a little rain or snow keep you from flying. Waterproofing (or more accurately, water-resisting) your drone is easier than you think.
## The Magic of Conformal Coating
The best way to protect your electronics is with silicone conformal coating. This is a thin, non-conductive layer that you paint onto your flight controller, ESC, and receiver.
## Application Process
1. **Disassemble**: Take your electronics stack apart.
2. **Clean**: Use isopropyl alcohol to clean any flux or dirt off the boards.
3. **Mask**: Use masking tape to cover any ports, plugs, or buttons you don’t want to coat.
4. **Apply**: Apply a thin, even layer of conformal coating. Let it dry completely.
5. **Reassemble**: Put your drone back together.
For added protection, our **UAVMODEL All-Weather Drone Kit** at uavmodel.com includes pre-coated electronics.
